Expanded voucher program may be part of D.C. special-education plan
An expansion of school vouchers for students with special needs to attend private schools is being considered as part of D.C. School Chancellor Michelle Rhee's plan to improve special education in D.C. schools. A new rate schedule for private-school tuition is under consideration, along with new policies on student evaluations and transportation. "We still have a long way to go, but parents can be proud of the work we are doing to ensure that students with the greatest need can receive a world-class education," Rhee said.
