Suzanne Farris

Suzanne Farris

Suzanne Farris has been an advocate for children and families for more than 20 years. With a degree in Secondary Education from Salisbury University and extensive graduate coursework in special education, gifted education and educational counseling, Suzanne started her career as a 6th grade teacher and quickly transitioned into an administrative support role before leaving education for the non-profit sector, working primarily with youth serving programs. In addition to her professional career, Suzanne has been a dedicated volunteer, serving as a mentor for both students and families living with exceptionalities and spending five years as a member of the Seaford Board of Education. The experience that most prepared her for work at PIC, however, is her experience as a parent raising four exceptional children of her own. Suzanne has been recognized for her work by the Delaware School Nutrition Association, the President’s Volunteer Service Awards, the Division of State Service Centers, and as Delaware Mother of the Year in 2018. Suzanne currently serves as a parent representative on the Positive Outcomes Charter School Board of Directors and volunteers with several organizations. She currently resides in Bridgeville with her husband David and her two younger children along with their four rescue cats and a very spoiled Leopard Gecko.
