Annual Giving Campaign

Annual Giving Campaign

Dear Friends of PIC,

Without a doubt, this has been one of the most challenging years the disability community has faced in decades. We have seen legitimate threats to critical funding streams and growing concerns about the availability of services and support for children and adults with disabilities and special healthcare needs. Yet through every uncertainty, we remain vigilant. Our commitment to keeping the needs of individuals with disabilities at the forefront is unwavering. This is non-negotiable.

Now, more than ever, your support is needed.

For 40 years, the Parent Information Center of Delaware (PIC) has served as a trusted voice for children with disabilities, their families, caregivers, professionals, and educators. We empower families to become their child’s strongest advocate, ensuring the systems they rely on are both accessible and accountable. While we are proud of our four decades of impact, we know the work is far from done.

Whether attending IEP meetings with families, helping parents navigate a new diagnosis, guiding students as they plan for life after high school, collaborating with community partners, or training emerging family leaders, PIC is here. We stand beside families every step of the way.

But make no mistake—this journey has only been possible because of supporters like you.

Each year, PIC provides vital support through consultations, trainings, and guidance, helping families navigate complex educational and medical systems. As Delaware’s primary educational resource for families of children and youth with disabilities, including learning, emotional, intellectual, physical, and neurodivergent differences—we are uniquely positioned to meet the needs of our community.

Many families we serve also face additional barriers such as economic challenges, language differences, and cultural hurdles, all of which can affect their ability to advocate effectively. Now more than ever, families rely on our skilled team for IEP support, document review, one-on-one consultation, and resource navigation.

This year, PIC expanded its programs to meet the growing needs of children, youth, and their families.

With this growth, we proudly provided support to:

  • 5,509 parents, caregivers, youth, and professionals through consultations, trainings, online learning, and outreach.
  • 75 meetings where youth self-advocates participated.
  • 308,780 individuals reached through social media and our website.
  • 149,612 electronic newsletters distributed.
  • 134 youth self-advocates supported through individual coaching or training.

None of these achievements would have been possible without your steadfast support!

This year, we invite you to join us in advancing our mission through our Annual Giving Campaign. Your generosity ensures that PIC’s dedicated team can continue meeting families where they are and providing the life-changing resources they depend on.
