Learning objectives:
• Soundfield vs. personal remote microphone technology
• Integrated receivers vs. physically attached receivers
• FM vs. Bluetooth remote microphone technology
• The differences between remote microphones for education vs. family / at home use
• Review commonly used Hearing Assistive Technologies (HATs) encountered today
• Classroom acoustics (reverberation and signal to noise ratio)

About the speakers:
• Shanda Brashears, AuD, ABAC, has been a Pediatric Audiologist at Nemours since
2005. She has a Bachelor in Music Therapy from Loyola University and a Masters
Degree in Communication Disorders from Louisiana State University Medical School. She
received her AuD from the Central Michigan University / Vanderbilt Distance Learning
Program in 2006.
• Bernadette Iuliucci, Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf for Delaware Statewide Programs for
the Deaf/Hard of Hearing/Deaf Blind Outreach Department. She has been a Teacher of
the Deaf for over 25 years, in a variety of settings and serving students using a range of
communication options. She has her Masters in Deaf Education from McDaniel College.
She is also an RID nationally certified ASL/English interpreter.
