Join Family SHADE’s Family Leadership Network (FLN)
What is the Family Leadership Network (FLN)? The FLN is a group of parents and caregivers of children and youth with special healthcare needs in Delaware.
Through free training opportunities and scheduled meetings, the FLN works to build a community of support to ensure that families remain central to the
systems that serve children and youth with special healthcare needs in the state.
• By joining the FLN, you will have the opportunity to:
• Meet regularly with fellow family advocates
• Strengthen your leadership skills and experiences
• Better understand and improve the system of care for children and youth with special healthcare needs in Delaware
There are many ways to get involved!
• Member of the Public (quarterly meetings): Attend Core FLN meetings and
activities as you are able to stay up to date on all things Family SHADE
• Core FLN Member ($200 stipend, quarterly meetings): Serve as the voice
of Family SHADE by attending meetings with fellow family advocates and
engaging in Family SHADE events and activities
• FLN Subcommittee Member ($400 stipend, quarterly meetings): Participate
in Core FLN activities and offer specific expertise related to one of the FLN’s
two subcommittees: Transition to Adult Healthcare and Medical Home
