IEP Clinics & Student Led IEP Meetings

IEP Clinics & Student Led IEP Meetings

The Parent Information Center of Delaware (PIC) invites you to a night of IEPs and fun! Bring your child and their Individualized Education Program (IEP) to review with a representative from PIC and/or the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR). If you have questions or concerns about your child’s IEP, are unsure which services to advocate for, or would like to encourage your child to take an active role in their IEP, this is an event you won’t want to miss.

What is an IEP Clinic?

An IEP Clinic is an opportunity for you to meet one-on-one with a PIC consultant to review your child’s IEP in person. The purpose of the clinic is to provide guidance and answer any questions you may have regarding your child’s IEP.

Who will be present to go over my child’s IEP with me?

  • A representative from DVR will be available to review IEPs for transition-age students, discuss what to look for, and explain services that help prepare students for life after high school.
  • A representative from PIC will also be available to review your child’s IEP with you.
  • Following your consultation with a PIC representative, there will be a presentation on student-led IEP meetings.

What are Student Led IEP’s?

Student led IEP meetings empower students to take an active role in their education. It is important for students to understand that they have an IEP and to recognize the importance of advocating for their services and accommodations. This involvement also helps prepare them for a successful transition after high school.

Refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you!
